Hali Smith, PT, DPT
Tell us a little about yourself (ex: Where did you grow up? Where did you go to school? What brought you to LC?)
I grew up in Longville, LA and graduated from South Beauregard High School. I completed my undergrad degree from McNeese and then went to UTMB for my doctorate in physical therapy.
How long have you been with PIPT?
Almost a year and a half.
What drew you to physical therapy?
I always wanted to be in the medical field and never knew exactly what I wanted to do until I saw the effects PT can have on people and returning them to their previous level of function.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
I really enjoy working with the pediatric population. I also have a certification in the LSVT BIG program for Parkinson’s disease.
What do you do for fun (ex: hobbies; crafts; volunteer; coach; watch football etc)?
Having the opportunity to help people on a daily basis.
Anything exciting on the horizon/ or just happened (ex: just completed a fellowship; taking a trip; training for a marathon; applying to PT school; got a new dog, etc)?
I love to spend time with my family.
