Tell us a little about yourself (ex: Where did you grow up? Where did you go to school? What brought you to LC?)

I grew up in Deridder and I went to Rosepine for my high education. I moved to Lake Charles right after high school graduation. I graduated from McNeese State University in 2012 with my bachelor’s degree. I then traveled to Shreveport and Texas to continue my education. I then graduated from Physical Therapy Assistant school and obtained my license to practice in 2017.

How long have you been with PIPT?

I was with PIPT approximately 3 years before I left to continue my education. I am back and have been for about 1.5 months!

What drew you to physical therapy?

I was an athletic trainer all through high school. One soccer meet, a student had a heart attack on the field during a play. I was a main caregiver for him to get him to the ambulance but was not sure what happened to him after that. This event made me want to be a part of the rehab field.

What’s your favorite part of the job?

Helping patients achieve their goals, decrease pain levels, and being a patient advocate.

What do you do for fun (ex: hobbies; crafts; volunteer; coach; watch football etc)?

I volunteer when I can and try to attempt DIY crafts on occasion when I am feeling “gutsy”. My main focus right now is decorating and organizing my new house.

Anything exciting on the horizon/ or just happened (ex: just completed a fellowship; taking a trip; training for a marathon; applying to PT school; got a new dog, etc)?

I hope to continue my education and apply to the UTMB bridge program to become a DPT within the next 2 years.
