Nate Perkins, DPT

Tell us a little about yourself:

I was born in DeRidder, LA and raised in Siloam Springs, AR. I moved back to Louisiana in 2010. I am married to my wonderful wife Kaylea and we have 2 boys: Nate and Conor. I developed a passion for Physical Therapy, specifically pediatric PT, whenever I had my first son who has Down Syndrome. I love working with the kids and helping them achieve their goals to better navigate their environment.

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northwestern State University

Doctorate of Physical Therapy from LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport

How long have you been with PIPT?

Since May 1, 2020

What drew you to physical therapy?

I wanted the opportunity to play a role in helping kids learn how to operate in their own body. Being the parent of a child that faces various difficulties, it brings me great joy to help children operate in their life more efficiently and increase their overall function.

What’s your favorite part of the job?

Seeing a child perform a task that they were previously unable to do; such as tying their shoe or running for the first time.

What do you do for fun?

I love to exercise and stay physically active. I love to play music. I also love playing with my 2 boys and seeing them grow and mature.

Anything exciting on the horizon/or just happened?

My wife and I just purchased our first house!
