Michaella Cormier, PT, DPT
Tell us a little about yourself (ex: Where did you grow up? Where did you go to school? What brought you to LC?)
I was born and raised in Lake Charles, LA. As a hometown girl, I graduated from McNeese State University earning a BS in Exercise Science. While at McNeese, I was an Athletic Trainer for four years working with a variety of athletes and coaches. I graduated from University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston with a Clinical Doctorate of Physical Therapy. I returned back to LC after graduation to be mentored at PIPT and develop a specialty in pediatric therapy. Along with my interest in treating adult orthopedic patients, I have found a passion for helping kids with special needs.
How long have you been with PIPT?
What drew you to physical therapy?
What’s your favorite part of the job?
Watching patients meet their goals and be successful
What do you do for fun (ex: hobbies; crafts; volunteer; coach; watch football etc)?
Running, reading, scrapbooking
Anything exciting on the horizon/ or just happened (ex: just completed a fellowship; taking a trip; training for a marathon; applying to PT school; got a new dog, etc)?
